You Can Make a Difference

Imagine the Impact You Can Make

Your donation – no matter the size – gives SLO for HOME the support to carry out its mission of helping legal refugees rebuild their lives on the Central Coast. Rick Stollmeyer, current CEO of Inspired Flight, Co-Founder of Mindbody, and a key donor to SLO for HOME, shares the incredible impact your donations can make:

  • My gift is an opportunity to ensure that our community can be a place of refuge and safety for families as they start over…This is what it looks like when SLO puts our values into action. SLO for HOME has stepped up to provide the kind of assistance for refugees that hasn’t before existed in our community, and I am proud to support their essential work.
  • Your gift will help refugees from war-torn countries establish new lives on the Central Coast by providing valuable services like transportation, housing support, and basic necessities, so they feel safe, welcome, and at home.

As we continue seeing the desperation and terror of people forced to leave their homeland due to war, there is no better time than now to donate and help refugees restart their lives on the Central Coast.

Did you know? Most refugees only receive 90 days of support which is not enough time for families to become fully independent. We provide a full year of support to help families establish sustainable self-sufficiency and success!

Your contributions will build upon the $1250 the U.S. government had been providing until just recently.  Although this U.S. government has temporarily suspended immigration programs, it is our hope after a period of evaluation that these programs will be resumed.  In the meantime, your contributions are even more important so that SLO for HOME can continue to provide support for families already here to help assure transportation, housing and basic needs to start a thriving life in their new community.

Refugees and their families need this support urgently, as many fled with nothing more than what they could carry. Some were students, and many left their jobs – from translators, engineers, and teachers to doctors, dentists, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) leaders – to find safety, security, and a new place to build a home. Your donations will ensure that SLO County warmly welcomes our new neighbors and helps them get reestablished and enrich the fabric and diversity of our community.
